Oh really?!?

According to several top section articles over at CNN:

AOL just bought HuffingtonPost!

Why?  Does AOL miss being an often cited news source from the days of "This is CNN, an AOL/Time Warner blahblahblah..."  Or is it the anti-self defense bias HuffPo shares with AOL’s former masters at CNN that was the attraction for them?  Or is there a behind the scenes effort by someone over at the Joyce Foundation trying to give HuffPo's typical "reportage" a wider audience?  I have no idea.  I just find it somewhat odd that a company like AOL would be interested in the drivel so often spouted at their new acquisition. Maybe they are joining forces in a desperate effort to keep their message and business model from going down the drain they have both been circling for a while now...
