Well Said

This comes to us by way of a link over at FaceBook posted by Oleg Volk:

JUST PEOPLE: July 4th, 2013

Well worth a few moment of your time.

It’s been a running joke …

... around the HerrBGone household:  When there’s been interference on the phone I have often commented “Guys, your monitoring gear is interfering with my conversation again…” as if the .gov might be listening in.

Not tonight, dear...

I had a post all set up to write.  On second thought I think I'll pass.  Maybe I should just go take down my flag instead.  The America I learned about in social studies no longer exists.

Mass Speaker of the House announces Gun Control Panel

There’s an article at lowellsun.com on the subject of a new panel tasked with ‘reviewing and proposing revisions to’ the gun laws here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  A place I frequently refer to as Marxistchusetts for reasons that become painfully obvious to anyone who has the misfortune to live here.

(Yes, I am planning to move.  I looked at a property in New Hampshire last night, as a matter of fact.)

The article points out that “The task force does not include anyone from the gun lobby or the gun-manufacturing industry …”   After all, we wouldn’t want there to be anyone on the board who is actually an expert on the subject.  The second half of that sentence states one member is a "gun enthusiast and sportsman."  I don’t know any more about former Massachusetts and Louisiana Inspector General Robert Cerasoli than what’s in his bio on Wikipedia and there is no mention of his being a sportsman or what his position may be regarding the Second Amendment.  Still, one voice against seven where among the seven there is at least one noted anti-gun author.  In a court of law I would suspect them of stacking the jury.

Later in the article we find this nugget:
“Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, has taken the lead on this issue in the House, filing a comprehensive bill to address gun violence that would require gun license applicants to disclose their mental health histories, prohibit assault weapons from being stored in homes, ban high-capacity ammunition magazines, and require gun owners to purchase liability insurance.”
Let’s rewrite this to be a bit more accurate:

Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, has taken the lead on this issue in the House, filing a patently Unconstitutional bill to reduce private gun ownership that would require, among other things, the following:
  • gun license applicants must disclose their mental health histories to their local Chief of Police who has already been given cart blanch to disallow any applicant regardless of how qualified even if he has no real reason for doing so (not that actual criminals would bother to apply for permits for their [usually stolen] guns...)
  • prohibits modern sporting rifles from being stored in Citizens homes
  • makes mere possession of a common stamped tin box with a spring in it a felony even if you don’t have a firearm to put it in or any ammunition to put in it
  • and applies a burdensome Tax on Citizens who wish to exercise their Second Amendment Rights in the form of mandated purchase of onerously expensive insurance policies from private corporations
And that last bullet point is actually prohibited by RICO.  Think if it phrased thus: “Youz gonna do business with my associates in de insurance industry here or I’m gonna make bad things happen to you.”  Come to think of it, Obamacare violates RICO for the same reason!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over…

It is fast getting to the point that our schools are more of a liability to our society than they are a benefit.

The original point of school was education.

Then they were quietly taken over by a group of wealthy industrialists who formed the Board of Education.  The nation wide standards they implemented for all of our schools from kindergarten through high school were designed to convert our schools into a massive manufacturing plant that produces factory workers.

In the fifties and sixties our schools were taken from the industrialists by socialists with a political agenda.  Mold the next generations into good little entitlement victims who CAN’T think for themselves and will go along with whatever the elites in government tell them.  And since there are now very few factory jobs left in America we can get the majority of them on the dole – which will make then that much easier to control.

All the while they’ve been increasing their insistence that the kids behave in a totally politically correct manor (according to whatever THEY decide happens to be politically correct at the moment).  If you’ve been reading the Dragonfly for any length of time you already know that Political Correctness was invented by Mao Tse Tung to allow the relatively small group known as the Communist Party of the Peoples Republic of China to control the vast population of what was at the time the most populous nation on the planet.

And now we have these two stories in the news:

7 Year Old Boy Suspended From School For Accidentally Chewing Pastry Into Shape of Gun

For Christ’s sake people!  This is asinine!

But wait, there’s more!  Yesterday we had another story that I linked on FaceBook.  I commented on it there, thus:

Keys to the city? A parade in their honor? A medal from the Governor?

Nope! How about suspended for being "involved in a violent incident."

All I can surmise from this is that the schools actually WANT your kids to be shot in the head so they can become "useful victims" in the march toward a defenseless population. Makes it easier for the coming dictatorship to weasel their way into power. If the next generation can be conditioned not to get involved regardless the cause it will be that much easier still.

Cypress HS students suspended for disarming gunman?
Student gets 3 day suspension after wrestling away gun

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

AMERICA cannot be taken from without.  But it has been thoroughly corrupted from within.  Our government routinely ignores the Constitution.  Our schools no longer educate – instead they condition our children to be mindless sheep, dependent on government for their very existence.  Many (but thankfully not all) of our corporations only care about their shareholders bottom lines regardless of any greater harm they may do.

How long can We the People sit by and watch as power-mad idiots who think themselves elite destroy the very fabric of our society?  And what, short of armed rebellion, can we do to save ourselves?

Me?  I’m working to start my own business and put my own finances in order.  I am working to disentangle myself from the snares our society has come to be used to.  I am trying to place myself on defensible high ground, armed with the knowledge of what is going on around us.

How about you?  What are you doing for yourself to take care of yourself?  The government is bankrupt – both morally as well as financially.  What’s more, they have no real interest in taking care of you.  Once you cease to be useful to them they will have no further need to provide for you.  What will you do then?  The time to figure that out is now.

Be vigilant.

Speechless!

I don't want to go to Disney World anymore

A wheelchair bound three year old girl with spina bifida gets singled out by TSA for ‘additional screening’ and even has her stuffed animal confiscated.

To borrow a line from Weer’d: Disband the TSA yesterday!

Mitt Romney Concedes

To all of you who voted for candidates that had no chance of winning:

President Obama thanks you.

I, however, do not.  As I had originally written the talkback that Cam paraphrased on air:

Looking at Florida and Ohio, in particular at the votes for "other" it looks like enough voters are playing with their Johnson to screw the rest of the country.

Banned in Boston

Calling their six page photo gallery a “Trend Alert” Boston.com points out what does seem to be a growing trend at least in Bloombergia and Marxistchusetts: Banning things.  I was going to ask ‘What next?  Dihydrogen monoxide?’ but the list already includes bottled water.

So much for American being the Land of the Free…

So easy even a game show host can do it...

H/T to my buddy Roger for sending this my way.

Is that so?

According to this article at Boston.com: The Justice Department (headed by Eric Holder) will not be prosecuting Eric Holder, who earlier this week was found to be in contempt of Congress, because in the opinion of the Justice Department (headed by Eric Holder) Holder did not commit a crime when he chose to ignore a subpoena issued by Congress to produce documents needed to investigate (among other things) the murder (very definitely a crime) of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry with weapons illegally sold to straw buyers acting on behalf of the Mexican drug cartels at the insistence of BATFE(IEIO) which is part of the Justice Department (headed by Eric Holder) and against the wishes of the gun shop owners who were ordered to do so by the agency that regulates their industry and can shut them down on a whim if they don’t play along, in an operation called Fast & Furious (whoever thunk this one up wasn’t very swift – and I’m furious over it) that senior management (Eric Holder) should have known about from all the emails about it that he claims not to have read (which is part of his job as head of the Justice Department). But there’s no conflict of interest here…

Explaining Fast & Furious

I have not seen a better explanation anywhere.

H/T to Attorney Evan Nappen for sharing this video over on Facebook.

BTW: If the ad before the video is the Martine Luther King tribute university ad – watch that too. It is also worthy of your time.

Our .gov at work

If “they” can stop We the People from using large swaths of common words it will become difficult – if not impossible – to have a simple conversation.  It’s as if the .gov wants to restrict the free flow of ideas among a free people.  Well, I guess we’ve reached the point where political correctness has worn thin and those who would try to control the dialogue are trying to replace fear of social ostracism with the real fear that the .gov may not take kindly to what we may want to innocently chat about.

Of course we all know that that’s not a bug – it’s a feature.

Well, guess what, guys?

I recently took the initiative to acquire a drill equipped with a vice that will enable me to manufacture a variety of things.  Link Link Link

And I frequently write about the facility I have put in place to mitigate the effects of the power grid going down.  I can now manufacture my own electricity.  I took these steps in response to two incidents where the power grid went down as the result of a natural disaster and all the food in my refrigerator went bad.  Not that any of it might have actually become toxic or anything.  Still, it’s better to avoid possible contamination that could cause food poisoning.  As expensive as all those groceries were, I just threw the stuff out…  The black out lasted eleven and a half days during the first service disruption!  That first disaster was caused by an ice storm.  The second was from an early snow when the trees all still had their leaves.  They are calling it the Halloween Blizzard though I don’t think it was really that bad.  Link Link Link Link

While we’re talking about the weather, we had an interesting lightening storm last night!  There was a warning from the National Weather Service and everything, though I didn’t see anything from the Emergency Broadcast System

And while we’re at it, I only saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Maybe I’m spending too much of my time on social media

Freedom was nice, while it lasted...

Introducing the New! & Improved!

The link goes to the web site of The White House and the full text the Executive Order:

Please go read the whole thing.  This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT Executive Orders ever issued short of an actual Declaration of War.

Edited to add: Hat tip to Evan Nappen over on Facebook for bringing this to our attention.

Government at work…

I may not live in "da schitty o' Boschton" (to quote their mayor), but I have worked there and have occasionally traveled there for reasons other than work.  Never once without a knife in my pocket or on my belt.  I use my knives every day, yet I have never committed a crime with any of them – except by my occasional presence in places where the mere possession of stuff is itself a crime.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

IMHO this is preemption of stupid ordinances of this type at the Federal level and applies to the various States and to the municipalities.  The SCOTUS made that abundantly clear in Heller and MacDonald.

If all those knives that were “confiscated” by the MBTA police were such a problem, why weren’t their owners arrested?  Conversely, if their owners weren’t committing an arrestable offence, why was their property stolen by the transit cops?

The real problem is that these imbeciles are not restricted to the home of the original tea party (circa 1773).  This mentality - or more likely mental condition - is rampant throughout the Commonwealth.

Welcome to Tyranny

My friends, it would appear that the American Experiment is over.

Didn’t we fight a war over shit like this?  I think it was back in 1776…

Who in their right mind would think this is a good idea?

CNN is reporting that the President’s jobs plan may create as many as 1 million jobs.  They go on to add that ‘economists gave generally positive reviews’ to the President’s plan.

Um, FYI, the President gave a speech.  He hasn’t actually given us the plan.  The actual plan hasn’t even been written yet!

OK.  Now let’s look at the numbers.

1,000,000 Jobs created
$447,000,000,000.00 Estimated cost of Obama’s “plan”
      (that $447 billion dollars!)
That’s $447,000.00 per job!

If you take that cost for each job and broke it down for one year’s paycheck for one person that’s:

$447,000.00 cost per job
divided by 52 weeks in a year
divided by 40 hours in a week
That pay rate would be $214.90 an hour!

Unless it’s the economist that’s getting paid that call it $215 an hour, how can they possibly consider this a good investment?  The President doesn’t care.  He’s spending our money on this lame brained idea, not his own!  And he’ll be out of office before the bill comes due.

Should Congress pass a cockamamie scheme like this?  With those numbers?  Where the ROI is only a million jobs?  And probably the vast majority of them will be bureaucrats overseeing the new Centralized Federal Workers Administration?  Lord help us!

Well, I suppose the - still to be proposed - Federal Works Planning Kommittee vill need verkers…

“Und if you don’t like verre ve assigned you to verk you vill be reassigned instead to a kamp to be reeducated!”

America was nice while it lasted.
